Who are we?

PhoneSmart is a subsidiary of StorageMart and has been providing an off site sales force and call center to the self storage industry for nearly a decade. In addition to serving the self storage industry, PhoneSmart provides secret shopping, quality assurance and sales training services to the apartment rental and property management, health care, senior living, and hotel and hospitality industries.

The Total Quality Assurance Services department at PhoneSmart coordinates secret shopping and quality assurance services for clients in Canada, the United States and Mexico. The company also serves the national and state self storage associations and has been a consultant to begin storage associations in Mexico, Spain and the United Kingdom.

What does PhoneSmart do?

PhoneSmart captures missed and rollover calls for nearly 1,000 storage facilities. The strong sales culture in the call center provides the right atmosphere to rent more units for self storage owners and increase occupancy rates.

The company also provides recorded audio secret shops and written evaluations to clients, as well as stats and reports of customer service and sales skill trends.

These quality assurance services include Mystery Shopping, Feedback Shopping, Shock Calling, Competitor Pricing and more. Live call monitoring is also a powerful tool in monitoring quality assurance, customer service and sales performance.

In addition to quality assurance and call center services, PhoneSmart provides sales training services. The methods available include Onside Seminars, Webinars, Conference Calls, Training Packets and more. Some of the more unique services are the Role Play Helpline and Telephone Teachers, which are exclusive services offered by PhoneSmart.

Who is StorageMart?

StorageMart is a private real estate company specializing in acquiring, developing, operating and selling self storage properties in markets with the greatest potential of reaching the capacity of producing maximum value.

StorageMart is a well-known name in the storage industry and the senior management team has an average of over 25 years of self storage experience.

The company has over 130 storage properties, with well over 60 of those properties located throughout Ontario, Quebec, Saskatchewan, British Columbia and Alberta. In addition to these, the company operates nearly 70 properties among 14 states within the US.

Where did StorageMart come from?

Before StorageMart began, there was a family from the middle of Missouri who wanted to take a family vacation before the summer was over. They family piled into a car and drove to Texas to enjoy making memories together.

You can imagine the disappointment when all they saw was rainy day after rainy day. Left with nothing to do, the family made the most of things and piled back into the car to drive around and look for business opportunities. After circling around a fenced lot with rows of garage storage spaces, they family decided to stop in to cure their curiosity.

After a few moments of talking shop with the self storage owner on the property, the family found themselves buying the leasing rights to the property for just 10 dollars.

As soon as they were home, they went to the local bank and found self storage funding for their first storage business.

The first self storage property ever purchased by the family has been bought and sold 3 times but is now back in the hands of the founding family. In fact, that property served as the headquarters to StorageMart for many years.

Where is StorageMart?

StorageMart recently relocated its headquarters from its very first storage property to an upgraded and larger office space. PhoneSmart is also headquartered within the same facility in Columbia, Missouri.

StorageMart will continue to expand in Canada and the United States as it moves forward developing new storage properties, acquiring existing self storage sites and converting commercial buildings into storage rental space.
