Airdrie storage units offer a wonderful place to put almost everything that you would want stored. From books to stuffed animals, desks to pianos, clothes to quilts, these units offer adequate space and security. However, they do not offer the ability to store absolutely anything. As most people know, humans are not allowed to be stored in public storing, whether dead or alive, so you cannot live in one. Other than people, there are still some things that cannot be stored.

Although some Airdrie storage units offer air conditioned rooms, most do not. Even in conditioned rooms though, many products cannot be stored. Milk is a prime example. Unless you enjoy consuming your milk with a fork and knife, do not store it for long periods of time. This should be very obvious and applies to any dairy product, or unsealed fruits or vegetables. If any packaged item says that it is perishable or has an expiry date, the best plan of action is to follow what the package says.

With that said, there are actually certain foods that can be stored for a length of time, and the fact that the rooms being used are climate controlled self storage units will both benefit and hinder storing many food types. For example, one way that storing in Canada can be beneficial is that, because of the cold climate, certain things are actually preserved for longer. Fruit will last longer, so if you are thinking about storing sealed dry fruit, you can store it well in Airdrie. However, because of the cold temperature, liquids may freeze if left in a storing unit without air conditioning or heating. This may not be a problem, though keep in mind that water expands when it freezes, so if you are going to store any water based substance, it would be best to put all such items in separate zip lock bags. This way, if the item expands to the point of bursting, the contents do not ruin any other items kept close to it.  Also, if each liquid is separated, there is no chance of a reaction of any sort, and the contents can most likely still be used even though it leaks out of the original container.

With all of that said, here are some examples of foods that can be stored in climate controlled self storage units. Any dried, sealed package can be stored such as nuts, fruit, trail mix, or seeds. Any cans may be stored so long as they are sealed individually, and stay away from storing soft liquids like soda or water. Any items like these tend to fill the container entirely, leaving very little room for expansion. Liquids that are more amiable to colder climates including soup or alcohol are easier to preserve. Other foods that can be stored include peanut butter, crackers or chips, dry noodles, and any spices or seasonings.

One more important thing to keep in mind is to make sure that any edible items being stored for an extended amount of time should be sealed, and preferably unopened, especially any soups or dried fruit.

Remember, climate control is optimal, pay attention to the expiration date or expiration warnings on any packages, and make sure to individually seal any liquids. These are the three things to keep in mind when storing food in Airdrie storage units .
