Park Your Plow Over the SummerBy jeff on March 17, 2011 | No Comments
Riley Park storage units in British Columbia, Canada have a lot of snow to plow. This can be quite and endeavor, believe it or not, for the managers of self storage places in Canada, or anywhere else in the world where it snows. We managed a self storage place in Chicago, Illinois for five years about six years ago, and snow was a problem often for us. In that city, people are used to it snowing and being cold, but they still expect the snow to be moved away from their streets and homes in a timely manner. Same thing goes for storage units where the customer must be able to get in his or her storage spaces when needed. Some own a business, and they must get inside their units to do their business and give their own customers the best customer service they can. Therefore, as mangers of a self storage place, we need to give that same good customer service as they do their own customers. We tried to, and we often were pretty good at it. The removal of snow was a headache on occasion, as we had to bid on who would do it, and at what price. A business does not want to spend a small fortune on snow removal and that expense can be very large. We look for deals in what business calls a win win situation, where both parties can win in a certain situation. Sometimes our own customers would offer to do the job for us at a good price, but they must get it done. This might take getting up at three o clock in the morning to get out and push snow.
Riley Park storage units in British Columbia, Canada, must push snow out of the way too. All of Canada must push snow out of the way and that is the challenge of living in a place or country where snow falls a lot. Customers who can not get to their storage units might have a big problem with their own business. We have often shoveled snow for them to get it out of their way so they can proceed on with their lives. We wanted the most reliable snow plow people to do our job, and as we all know, sometimes you get what you pay for. A snow plow showing up at nine o clock in the morning is not a good snow plow person at any price. We need to get in our storage units at six in the morning, not nine in the morning.
Riley Park storage units in British Columbia, Canada must push snow. In this neck of the wood though, many people have trucks and plows and are ready for the snow to fall and pile up rather high. Some people have never seen snow in their whole lives. We have known a few people like that, from Texas or Florida or other Countries. It snows in Texas once in a while, but not much. Canada would be an eye opener for people who live in Mexico, to see snow fall and the cold would knock them out. We had a friend in Texas who loved cold weather though, and would love living in Canada.

Cars and Boats Have a Place at Your Local Storage Fac...By jeff on March 15, 2011 | No Comments
Lower Mount Royal storage units in Alberta, Canada are waiting for customers. Who are these potential customers that may walk in the office and need a storage unit? There is no real marketing that can precisely cut this market by age, or race, or anything else in that matter. Other products are so much easier to market and find the people who want your product. There are not many consumers over sixty-five who look to buy the latest and greatest video games on the WII or Xbox. In the storage business, older and young people buy the product. People are moving of all ages in our world and when one moves, one might need storage for a while to hold their stuff while they look for a new place to live. Some people store cars and boats. A lot of places in the United States of America will not let you put a boat in your driveway. It is an eyesore we guess, but more important than that is how the whole place looks where you live. Junk cars all over people’s driveways or all over the road are a sign of places in decline. In the United States of America, it is how your other people in the place keep up their homes too to know how much your home is worth. Therefore, there are rules to stop people from having their homes look like anything they want to. We can see the point because everybody deserves freedom from other people too. You can not go and hit some one in the face because you believe you have the freedom to do so. One can not put their freedom to some one else. Therefore, people store cars and boats.
Lower Mount Royal storage units will store most cars and boats. We mean by that is the customer still must prove he or she owns whatever it is they are storing especially cars and boats. Storage places are not in the business of housing stolen stuff. There are few problems in the industry though, compared to other business. Most people and customers are good people who are not out to hurt or deceive others. We think this is a good thing, and too many lawyers in any one place is not a good thing. We sue and sue a whole lot in the United States of America, and we wish we did not. We hope Canada sues each other less. We hope everybody sues each other less, but if a manager of a self storage places does a good job, lawsuits will be at a low anyway.
Lower Mount Royal storage units are important. We need storage places in our lives to help us organize and know where things are for the most part. We have lost a few things in storage we thought we had, but maybe not. We still do not know. Oh Well. Such is life, when you own way too many things. We do. We guess that means we are doing well in life. We feel fine with our small modest storage unit. We do not store cars or boats. We have never owned a boat, not even a small canoe. Wait a minute, we have two remote controlled boats, but we believe that is not too rich you know.

Park Your Vehicles at a Storage FacilityBy jeff on March 9, 2011 | No Comments
Long Branch storage units are located in the great place of Ontario, Canada. These units need good managers to take care of them. This sounds easy and one would think all managers can at least do that, but you might be surprised of the difference between good managers of self storage places, compared to bad managers. We have seen them all in the over twenty years we have been in the self storage business. A manager sometimes will do more than just take care of the storage units on the property they are running. It brings up a story in our minds of the day in Dallas, Texas in the United States of America, when we had to battle city hall to get something done. They say in America you can not fight city hall, but sometimes you got to. We had three U haul trucks on our property. We rented them in a contract with that company and so far so good. To let our potential customers know we had U haul trucks to rent we parked them in front of the office and the side of the office too, so people can see them. We were on a busy road in a suburb, so we saw no reason why this would not be OK. Well, we were wrong. It seems a person was complaining about the unsightly trucks in front of our office. We thought we had the right, so we marched down to city hall to see what the problem was. Office after office we went into until finally we saw the right people. After several visits and being very nice about the whole thing, one office worker finally spilled the beans on the complaining person about our eyesore trucks. A retired city hall worker who lived right down the block was complaining about the trucks. It seems he did not like them sitting there for whatever real reason in his head. We thought he was just trying to bully us because he felt more powerful than we did.
Long Branch storage units in the great place of Ontario, Canada may have similar problems. We hope not. This turned out to be a somewhat of a small headache for us as we jockeyed everyday moving and parking our trucks. We finally found the provisions that said we could park our trucks where we wanted but we did compromise a little just to irate this man who thought he had power even after he retired. Things that are wrong with our government are right here people. We call this the good ol boy network, and we hope Canada does not have that over their heads too like we do in the United States of America. It is a drag to see it in action, and we dislike people who think that their way is better than ours is or that they have nothing better to do than to do things like this.
Long Branch storage units in the great place of Ontario, Canada are a long way from this problem we hope. Our compromise was that at the end of the working day, we would move the trucks in the back, out of site. We feel we won the case and could have pursued it more, but winning was enough.

Take Strokes Off Your Game with a Storage UnitBy jeff on March 8, 2011 | No Comments
Islington storage units are located in the great place of Ontario, Canada. Our company has recently purchased a number of self storage facilities in this great northern winter wonderland, and we had to see and visit the many places we bought. It was great to be in Canada for a while and the winter did not bother us too much. The group that made the trek up here has all experienced the snowy months and winters of some of the places in the United States of America. We were not afraid. While visiting one of the self storage facilities, one of the co workers from Texas talked about his job done there and how fast his golf cart was. This might sound funny or crazy that a person visiting a self storage place in snowy Canada would talk about golf carts, but it was something we had to talk about. In the United States of America, often self storage places have golf carts on the property for the managers to drive around on to save time. They were also used to haul things. Some managers would get a hook put on the back of the golf cart and hook up a small trailer to it to pull things around such as garbage cans or stuff left on the property. We had to decide if the self storage places up here in snowy Canada need golf carts too. If a property was very large, it could take a very long time to get around getting things done. The golf cart was cool though for another reason. Customers loved them. A good manager would always let the potential customer ride on the golf cart for the manager to show them the different size units they had on the property. Kids especially loved the ride and once in a while, we would take corners at high speeds to give them a little thrill.
Islington storage units in the great place of Ontario, Canada needs golf carts. These golf carts were such a selling point that almost all the potential customers that rode them, rented a self storage unit from us. The kids loved the speed, but not all were fast. Some were old that were bought used and the power was not there. Some ran on batteries, and that battery had to be charged every night before the manager went home. It usually took all night to charge them, but what they could do was vital at times. Smaller self storage places really did not need them, but the customers were loosing out a little, and that great selling point was gone. We had to decide if even small properties should have them. Some golf carts could cost as much as six thousand dollars, but used slow ones were less than that.
Islington storage units in the great place of Ontario, Canada may see some golf carts on their properties. We all like the idea of it and we hope we can see some here at a reasonable price. We do share a few stories though, of maybe using the golf carts in a very un-businesslike way too. Should we talk about that or are we setting ourselves up? We will let you decide and use your own imagination.

Edmonton Car Storage Inside and OutBy admin on July 20, 2010 | No Comments
You should consider many things when you have a need for Edmonton car storage in the future. There is a lot of competition in the area and not all of the properties are the same in terms of many aspects. The price is going to be pretty much the same as you call around provided you are comparing similar spots. There are two popular types of spaces that will account for most of the spots that you will find. The first type of space is the traditional outside space. The second is the inside space. The price will be a little different depending on which one you are looking into, so it is vital to mention to the manager what type of spot you are looking for.
The general rule of Edmonton car storage is to stay far away from the cheapest spaces and look for a little more in terms of quality. Now, that does not mean that you should go with the most expensive spot, either. In fact, you should probably stay away from those properties, as well. You want to find spot that is affordable, but also has the quality that you deserve when you spend your hard earned money.
The outside space might not be the best choice if you are looking for Edmonton car storage for the winter. But if you are looking for a space for a short period of time at a different part of the year, you would probably waste money going with the inside space so the outside should do the trick. The main benefit is that you will surely save money, probably about half the price of what a traditional inside space would go for in terms of the monthly rent. The outside space during months with good weather should be a good cause because you do not need the extra protection from the elements that the inside space will provide. Some people would think that the outside space might put you at risk of theft from bad people. In fact, there are many facilities that go the extra mile to make sure that your car will be safe.
Whether you are looking for an outside or inside space, you will want to make sure that the Edmonton car storage facility has good security in place. That way, you can have peace of mind that your car is protected from theft, even with the outside space. There should be security fencing around the property and a pin accessed controlled gate so that the bad guys cannot get in, only current tenants. There should also be door alarms and video cameras around the property.
If you are looking for Edmonton car storage for the winter, you should definitely go with the inside space because it will offer you the most protection of the two types of spaces. It will cost extra, but it is absolutely essential to get an inside space. The most common space would be a ten by twenty because that is the size of a one car garage and can fit most cars. You will want to measure the vehicle to make sure it will fit or you may be able to go with a smaller space. The height of the door to the space is also very important.

Collingwood Car Storage Requirements and GuidelinesBy admin on July 19, 2010 | No Comments
It is very tricky to find Collingwood car storage that hits all the main points in terms of quality and still offers a price that will not break the bank. There are a few priorities that you should look for and you definitely want to avoid simply looking for the cheapest price. After all, the cheapest space is in the parking lot of the local supermarket, but that would not be a good idea. Safety and security should take precedence over any of the other options that you are looking at. After all, if your car is not going to be kept safe while you store, then it should not matter how much money you are saving. If you want the best, you will need to search.
To start the Collingwood car storage search, you should get the phonebook out or get on the computer and try to figure out about ten spots that you would consider a good location and convenient. These are actually two different things even though they may sound the same. A convenient location is one that is going to be easy for you to get to and is close to where you live and work. A good location implies that you will be in a good neighborhood that is safe to visit at night. After all, there will be times when you need to get to the storage space at night especially when it starts to get dark early in the winter time. You will be glad you are in a good neighborhood at these times.
After you find a Collingwood car storage facility that is close by, you will then need to make sure that you meet the requirements of the facility. Not all facilities are strict with their guidelines but there are many that are, so it is good to know what to look for. The car needs to be in running condition, titled, insured, and registered in the name of the person who will be storing. They may also ask that you have minimal gas in the gas tank which is a good thing in case there is a fire at the facility. Then it would be good if the car was insured so all of the rules make a lot of sense. There may be some facilities that are a little more relaxed than others so it is worth shopping around even if you do not meet all of the requirements.
The security of the Collingwood car storage property should also be looked at with great scrutiny and some would say that this is the most important thing when looking for a space. After all, a car is one of the biggest investments that you will make so you should make sure that it will be safe no matter where you plan to store it. There are some basic security features that should be in place. You should look for a Collingwood car storage property security fencing and a pin accessed controlled gate to keep people out of there that should not be there. Also, there should be some video camera surveillance and door alarms if you get an inside unit. The security that the site has is a good indicator of how serious they are in offering quality to the customers that are going to rent there.

Indoor or Outdoor Ajax Car StorageBy admin on July 13, 2010 | No Comments
Just like many Americans, some of us like to spend most of our time inside our homes or businesses instead of being outside. There are many people would who are the complete opposite. It just really depends on the person. There are just as many activities to do outside as there is to do inside. So sometimes for those people who like to do either or they are having the internal conflict on which to do. Sometimes they might not have a choice depending on the situation and the moment in time. Just like those who are using an Ajax car storage facility, they have to determine whether or not they want to park their car inside or outside. Just like all things and all decisions, there are advantages to both.
Most Ajax care storage facilities will give you the option on whether you want to store outside or inside. Some only offer you one or the other. So before you can really decide on which Ajax car storage facility you want to store your vehicle at, you will have to decide which way you want to in order to store your car. Just like most things you can go online in order to research is there one advantage over the other or you can just make a decision based on what you want. Also, most people will want to choose outside or inside storage based on the value they believe their car has to them.
When trying to make the decision of storing inside there are a couple of things you should look at and consider. When storing inside at an Ajax car storage facility you can actually park your car in a garage style space just like you would if you were at your house. This option makes a lot of people very comfortable in the fact that they do not wish to leave their car outside. They can put a lock on the roll up door and feel secure that their care will be fine. Also some facilities have door alarms on each of their doors so if anyone tries to break in an alarm will sound. Those are some great advantages but there are some disadvantages to storing inside such as more of a cost. It makes sense for a customer to realize that it does cost more to put a car inside versus outside. It really depends on the area. Sometimes the cost difference can be great or very small.
The advantage of using an Ajax car storage facility for outside storage is simply its very convenient most of the time. Your vehicle is sitting on a parking lot and you can just get in and drive off. There is not a door to open or to deal with. The cost is usually a lot less and you are still protected by the access control gate the facility has. The couple of downfalls or disadvantages you have to storing outside out be that you are susceptible to weather. If it rains, hails, or other natural weather conditions, your car could be at risk versus those cars that are parked inside.
So the choice will always come down to you. Do you want to park your car inside or outside? Is the cost difference a big enough reason to park outside? Do you want the added safety and protection with storing inside? Find out what your local Ajax car storage facilty has to offer. The choice might be made for you.

Search for Airdrie Car StorageBy admin on July 9, 2010 | No Comments
If you remember back when you first got your license, it seemed like you could drive anywhere because you were free. You felt like the world was yours to explore and that nothing could slow you down. That is the great thing about having a car. You can get to point a to point b with nothing in the way of you except for the road conditions, traffic, rules of the road or ensuring your car is current on all maintenance needs. Besides those things, you are free to move about the country. Not all the time will you be able to park your car where you want to. You might have to find an Airdrie car storage location to store.
In your area, an Airdrie car storage location is not hard to find. The question is how do you search for one? The answer is a couple of different ways. You could use the yellow pages, ask a friend, or go online. Each method has its advantages and disadvantages.
Most people will go online in order to search for the nearest Airdrie car storage facility. Since this is the age of technology, online is the way to go. Many people feel that they can get online quickly and find the facility that they need. Depending on the hardware that you are using to access an online search, you can get the results that you are looking for. Some people use their cellular devices to look for storage while they are on the go. While those who are at home and plan ahead would use their personal computers in order to search for a car storing location. In addition to the hardware you use, then you need to find a good search engine that will assist you in fining the facility. The great advantage of being online is that you can also pull up maps of the area and get directions to the facility.
For those people who like the conventional way of using the local yellow pages to find the Airdrie car storage location of their choice, they have an advantage. Usually the yellow pages they use will be of the local area while the internet is world wide. So with using the yellow pages, they find that they can look up a facility and its right here in the area. It is not as fast as going online, but maybe it is. Some people would swear that they would use the yellow pages over the internet anytime in order to search the local area for services. They feel all they have to do is follow the alphabet of what they are looking for and be right where they need to be. Others beg to differ.
Other times, you can find the Airdrie car storage location by asking a friend. Usually self storage is not the topic of conversation around the dinner table, but when you need to talk about, most likely someone would have used storage before. They can give you ideas on where to go and why. They will even tell you how to get there. Sometimes there is nothing more valuable than help from a friend. After you find the right facility for you, all you have to do then is drive right in and talk to the manager about parking your car there.
