Knowing the Value of Your Storage Facility’s Units

River Heights storage units are located in the great place of Saskatchewan, Canada.  We have been visiting Canada and their storage facilities talking about pricing.  Pricing is extremely important in the storage industry and can make or break a self storage facility.  If you charge too little, you lose money in two ways.  Too expensive and nobody wants the product.  We talked about how not to base your prices strictly on the competitor’s prices.  This is not a good idea for a whole lot of reasons and we discussed some of those ideas last time we spoke.  Another reason cheap prices hurt you is with the quality of the customer you get.  If you price so far below your competitors, you get a different kind of customer.  These customers will store junk or garbage and trash, never pay the bill, and the self storage place is stuck with their junk.  If it is cheaper for a person to put their trash in a self storage unit than going to the dump, you are in trouble.  Why not?  A customer can dump off in a storage unit old metal or broken stuff, even a car that does not run, and will never run, rent the unit, and never be seen again.  Most of the time their credit is not hurt, they only lose the junk they did not want in the first place.  We were shopping other storage places one day and we were pretending to be a young couple looking for storage and the manager their flat out asked us if we were going to store junk and never come back.  She was a terrible sales person, but we concluded she was at her wits end because so many customers were doing this because her prices were way too low.  She had hundreds of storage units full of junk she could not get rid of in any kind of cheap way.  She was loosing money hand over fist.

River Heights storage units are located in the great place of Saskatchewan, Canada.  We hope our Canadian brothers and sisters are pricing good.  We hope they are not full of junk dumped on them by too cheap of a price for a storage unit.  We have never done this, and therefore we were not spending all of our time trying to get rid of junk off the property.  If you want to store junk and just leave it go to a cheaper place and save even more money.  Do not store here.  We do not want a self storage place full of junk and bugs and old paint and old oil and the like.  That is what you will get if you rent self storage places to cheap of a price.  It will kill your business.
